Yields 2 pizzas or 4 calzones
- 3 c AP Flour
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp yeast
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 1/4 cup water
- Combine dry ingredients.
- Add olive oil and blend with fingers or fork, until mixture is sandy.
- Add water and mix with your hands. Knead dough 5-7 minutes, until a smooth, elastic ball is formed.
- Place in bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Allow to rise 1-3 hours.
- Alternatively, the dough can be placed in the fridge overnight. Approximately three hours before use, remove it from the fridge and allow it to warm to room temperature. This develops a better flavor and chewier texture in the dough.
